United Sports & Entertainment [USE] is set to bring elite college basketball and community impact to New Orleans with Compete 4 Cause Classic (@Compete4CauseClassic), tipping off Saturday, December 13, at Smoothie King Center.
This year’s showcase features a thrilling double-header, led by a match-up between two stellar women’s basketball teams as the LSU Tigers (SEC) take on the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (C-USA). This matchup unites high-level programs with rich history and passionate fan bases, setting the stage for an exciting showdown in the Big Easy. Adding emotional depth is the compelling narrative of LSU Head Coach Kim Mulkey, whose ties to Louisiana Tech run deep.
Game 2 of the event will spotlight a big-time rematch between the LSU Tigers (SEC) and the SMU Mustangs (ACC) — two powerhouse men’s basketball programs with deep rosters and NCAA Tournament aspirations. SMU's late-game surge gave them a 74-64 victory over LSU in last year's Compete 4 Cause Classic hosted in Dallas (TX). Together, these two match-ups promise an unforgettable celebration of basketball, culture, and connection—where history meets heart on the court.
At its center, Compete 4 Cause Classic is more than just basketball—it’s a movement. Rooted in service, the event empowers the participating student-athletes to use their platforms to uplift underrepresented youth in New Orleans. Through strategic partnerships with local organizations, USE will deliver enriching experiences that foster meaningful engagement and leave a lasting impact on the community.

Clear Bag Policy

All bags are prohibited other than clear vinyl bags no larger than 14" wide x 14" height x 6" deep, Gallon Size Ziploc Bags (Limit 1 of either) and Small Clutch Purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5". Non-clear Diaper bags are prohibited.

Cashless Operations

Smoothie King Center is a cashless operation including all concessions, merchandise, and parking. Cash will not be accepted as a form of payment at any parking, retail, or concession location within the Smoothie King Center.
Guests may convert their cash to a Master Card at Section 108 near the Guest Services location.
Master Cards are sold at a maximum $500 and can be used at any POS location in the building including merchandise.

Prohibited Items

All bags are prohibited other than clear vinyl bags no larger than 14" wide x 14" height x 6" deep, Gallon Size Ziploc Bags (Limit 1 of either) and Small Clutch Purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5". Non-clear Diaper bags are prohibited. A clear diaper bag (no larger than 14" wide x 14" height x 6" deep) is permitted. Each member of a family, including children, would be allowed to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse into the arena. Outside Food & Drink, Cans, Bottles, Weapons, Fireworks, Contraband, Video Cameras, Cameras with lens exceeding 6”, Recording Devices, Sticks/poles/Selfie Sticks, iPads, GoPros, Confetti, Glitter, Beach balls, Laser Pointers, Mace, Artificial Noisemakers, Drones, Whistles and Containers of any kind are prohibited on the Smoothie King Center property. Any other items determined unacceptable by management will also be prohibited.
