Beyond the Record: Second Chances Summit

Please join us at the Smoothie King Center for a day of action promoting second chances, economic mobility, and restorative justice featuring panels, fireside chats, an expungement clinic, and community resources hosted by the New Orleans Pelicans, National Basketball Social Justice Coalition, and the Justice & Accountability Center of Louisiana.
Programming includes:
10:00AM – 12:30PM: Mainstage conversations featuring Pelicans front office leadership, players, civic leaders, and justice-impacted voices
Featured Speakers: Gayle Benson, Joe Dumars, James Cadogan and William Snowden (Emcee)
Second Chances Panel; Policy, partnerships, and pathways forward: Daphine Barnes, Senator Royce Duplessis, Syrita Steib, Sherie Thomas, Ronald Marshall,
Rebuilding Futures Panel; Paving the way to opportunity for justice-involved youth: Tonya Bolden-Ball, CJ McCollum, Cierra Chenier, Ronald Oliver, Jarian Hankton
Collective Impact & Action Panel: Lucretia Murphy, Jasmine Brown-Derousselle, Twanda Laurant-Lewis, Raymond Flanks, Christy Ross

12:30PM – 4:00PM: Community Resources & Employment Clinic (Open to the Public) and Expungement Clinic (RSVP Required)

Complimentary parking is available in Lot 3 across the street from Smoothie King Center main entrance.

Prohibited Items

All bags are prohibited other than clear vinyl bags no larger than 14" wide x 14" height x 6" deep, Gallon Size Ziploc Bags (Limit 1 of either) and Small Clutch Purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5". Non-clear Diaper bags are prohibited. A clear diaper bag (no larger than 14" wide x 14" height x 6" deep) is permitted. Each member of a family, including children, would be allowed to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse into the arena. Outside Food & Drink, Cans, Bottles, Weapons, Fireworks, Contraband, Video Cameras, Cameras with lens exceeding 6”, Recording Devices, Sticks/poles/Selfie Sticks, iPads, GoPros, Confetti, Glitter, Beach balls, Laser Pointers, Mace, Artificial Noisemakers, Drones, Whistles and Containers of any kind are prohibited on the Smoothie King Center property. Any other items determined unacceptable by management will also be prohibited.
